Our Mission Statement

The Concerned Black Citizens of Beloit is comprised of residents of Beloit, Wisconsin who are organized and committed to enhancing the quality of life for all city residents, with a particular focus on the African American community and other minority communities within Beloit. We are dedicated to securing the present and future well-being of Beloit’s diverse populations and to ensuring equality and equity in economic opportunity, civil justice, education, affordable housing, environmental stewardship, neighborhood improvement, and community development—especially in communities that have been historically underserved and underprivileged

Who Are The Concerned Black Citizens?

The Concerned Black Citizens (CBC) is comprised of residents of Beloit, Wisconsin who are organized and committed to enhancing the quality of life for all residents of the City of Beloit, with a particular focus on the Black community and other minority communities within the city.

CBC members work collaboratively to take positive and proactive action to secure the present and future well-being of Beloit’s diverse communities. We are dedicated to ensuring equality and equity in economic opportunity, civil justice, education, affordable housing, and community development—especially in communities that have been historically underserved and underprivileged.

The objectives and purpose of the CBC are to:

  • Provide forums to educate citizens on current events.

  • Provide instruction in academic courses specifically to meet individual student needs.

  • Provide education and training programs for participants to engage in recreational and social activities.

Our Timeline

Programs We Offer

Financial Education

Weekly workshops and short courses on budgeting, credit, saving, and creating simple family budgets that work for local incomes and schedules.

Economic Empowerment

Practical sessions on small business basics, local hiring strategies, cooperative economics, and connecting residents with regional resources.

Civic Engagement

Town halls, voter information sessions, and civic training that teach how policy affects daily life and how to influence local decisions.
